About the Author

Louise Garcia

Louise Garcia grew up on the California beaches and has always had a strong love of the ocean. She has been a writer since she was a child. Her dream of delivering positive messages for children facing the daily challenges of growing up, has come to reality in the writing of this book. Look for future life lessons in upcoming books as Cinnamon continues to grow and learn about life. When Louise is not writing, she enjoys spending time cooking, dancing, and relaxing in the out-of-doors with her family and friends. She resides in the beautiful White Mountains of Arizona with her loving husband, Michael, and their faithful dog, Shoto.

About the Illustrator

Kas Winters

Kas Winters has written and illustrated several family books. She lives in her beloved Arizona with her husband, Roger, and a house full of active children. MOTHER LODE, inspired by her international newsletter, "The Troubadour," is the latest addition to her list of accomplishments. Kas mentors scouts, celebrates holidays (which her family calls "Cecil B. de Kas productions") and takes photos non-stop. She sings Broadway tunes, cooks from scratch, and camps in the woods. A graduate of Arizona State University, she insists that writing is like eating and breathing, an essential part of living, and dreams that her work will make a positive difference to families.

Help a child adjust to changes,

or just read this book for the fun of it!

Read about Cinny, her dad, Grant and the friends they find in their new underwater home.

This is a story about a cute little sea horse named Cinnamon. In this story, she experiences the uncertainty that comes with leaving close friends behind, and making new friends following a move to a new home. As Cinnamon makes new friends, she learns that sometimes, big changes in life are not always as scary as they first seem, and may often provide new opportunities for happiness.

Read with a child...

Reading strengthens relationships and teaches children lessons that they are likely to remember. Of course, you are also creating a memory of special time together, and that is priceless. Read to a child or let them read to you.

What they are saying about Cinnamon...

"My children and I recently moved to a new city and they were pretty sad about leaving some of their friends. Perfect story at the perfect time! Thanks!"

S. Thurston, Las Vegas, NV

"This is my daughter's favorite story and she is so excited for the next book to come out."

G. Cyphers, Beaver, UT

"This is the cutest story and the illustrations just captivate my youngest son. He makes me read it to him every night."

S. Ellison, Hot Springs, AR

"It was refreshing to find a story so innocent with such a positive message for children. I am really looking forward to future books."

D. Hubbell, Palmdale, CA

From Kas...

I recently had the opportunity to share this book with classes of second and fourth grade students at a school and they were all delighted with both the story and the illustrations.
