About the Author
Vickie Mullins
Vickie Mullins is the compassionate, driving force behinds the
I Want You to Know Me...series.
Her
professional writing passions run deep. She started her
writing career with inspiration from a high school journalism
class. Her writing talent and interest carried her through
college and evolved into her founding of Mullins Creative,
Inc., and award-winning, graphic design and print management
company founded in 1991.
Growing up,
Vickie was a tomboy, daughter of an avid hunter and fisherman.
She loves hiking and the out-door lifestyle. Her idea of a
perfect day is one spent fishing on the banks of any mountain
lake. As is was for him, it is for her; she is just like her
dad.
Vickie's
personal passion is her family. She was inspired by her own
mom to want to stay at home when her own children were born.
So, her home-based business was born out of that vision.
"Being a mom is the best job in the world," shares Vickie. She
took one day at a time and tried to fill it with laughs and
memories the kids would always cherish. She is just like her
mom.
Vickie and her
husband, Jack live in Scottsdale, Arizona. They have two grown
children, Jonathan and Shannon.

As we began to travel the
country sharing the importance of moms, dads, grandmas and
grandpas connecting, we found ourselves in Nashville at a
convention attended by more than 5,000 young moms.
One afternoon, a young woman
walked into our booth and shared with us that she was from
Fort Bragg, North Carolina, the mother of three small boys and
that her husband was in Special Forces, preparing to deploy to
Iraq. After looking at our books, Dawn told us how much it
would mean to her and their little boys to have this
information completed by her husband before he headed
overseas. She commented that she was a very optimistic person,
but there are no promises when it comes to war. Our hearts
went out to her so we gave Dawn a book to take home, wishing
her husband a safe tour.
Throughout the remainder of the show, we had the privilege of
meeting many more wives of servicemen. Their stories of
courage convicted us that we had to do something to bring joy
to their lives and a sense of peace as they head into
uncertainty.
