a good luck coin goes back the the 12th century. The original wedding
custom was to give both the bride and groom a sixpence as a sign of good
fortune. Later it become the custom for the bride to put the sixpence in
her shoe for good fortune. This is a custom still observed today, not
only in Britain but around the world. The sixpence coin on this
card is an authentic antique coin last minted in 1967. It is becoming a
rare coin as is the opportunity to own one.
